- 500g Cummins Milling Wholemeal Bread Premix
- 2 teaspoons of dry yeast
- ½ teaspoon of castor sugar
- 200g walnuts (broken but not crushed)
- 150ml water
- 125ml sour cream
- 100ml milk
Slightly roast the walnuts (if purchased pre-shelled). You can do this by putting the nuts in a non stick frypan over a low heat and shake the pan until the oil from the nuts starts to form on the outside and go a more golden colour. Do not over roast the nuts as they can get a bitter taste to them.
Place all ingredients (except walnuts) in the bread machine. Set the machine on a ‘wheat’ setting (this has a slightly longer mixing time).
If your bread machine has a fruit and nut dispensing compartment, place walnuts in there.
If your machine does not have a nut dispenser, let the machine mix the dough for ¼ hour then add the walnuts.
